One Yangkkwo set lets you try all four skewers plus guobaorou, and one person can order it. Skewers ordered separately require a minimum of two servings. Dip them in the cumin powder (ziran) on the white plate as you like.

Mala is a spice blend from Sichuan, China, made by mixing nutmeg, clove, star anise, Sichuan pepper, black pepper and the like; it gives a hot, numbing taste. 꿔바로우Guobaorou (sweet and sour fried pork)Guobaorou is a Chinese dish of pork coated in potato starch, deep-fried until crisp, then tossed in a sweet-and-sour sauce made with vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and the like. Four kinds of lamb skewers grilled over charcoal, with guobaorou in one set.

With the Yangkkwo set, plain, seasoned, lamb rib meat and mala lamb rib skewers come on one tray, and you grill them over the charcoal at your table. Dip them in the cumin powder (ziran) on the white plate as you like. We recommend letting the guobaorou cool a little before eating. On our visit on 2026-10-22, soft tofu stew and basic side dishes came free of charge.

The place and the order

I went a little before 3 p.m. It is the shop under the red sign, and I have been about five times. I ordered the Yangkkwo set (56,000 won); you can order the set even on your own. The drink that comes with the set is iced black tea (bing hong cha), which I swapped for a Tsingtao.

One tray

The raw skewers come on one tray: 5 plain lamb skewers, 5 seasoned lamb skewers, 5 lamb rib-meat skewers and 4 bone-in mala lamb ribs. Six side dishes come out, and a sundubu-jjigae (soft-tofu stew) is served free. Put all four kinds over the charcoal and grill them evenly.

Plain lamb skewers

The basic skewer — and there is no lamb smell. The red powder on the white plate is cumin (zīrán); dip to taste.

Seasoned skewers, rib meat, mala lamb ribs

The seasoned skewers are not very spicy. The rib meat is fattier and juicier than the plain skewers. The mala lamb ribs are eaten off the bone, the fat mixing with the mala seasoning.

Guobaorou

The set includes a plate of guobaorou (sweet-and-sour fried pork). It is sweet and sour, and better once it has cooled a little. In between, have the sundubu-jjigae and the pickled onion.

Three Tsingtaos (including the one swapped for the set drink); total 75,000 won by the receipt.

A word for visitors from abroad

If a lamb smell has put you off skewers before, this place has none. You can order the Yangkkwo set on your own; skewers ordered on their own start from two servings. The shop is small, so it can fill up at lunch and dinner. Point to '양꿔세트' on the menu, or play the Korean ordering audio on this page.
