라군막걸리 Ragoon Makgeolli — The ingredients shine at my favorite neighborhood pancake spot
#1 Four o’clock
A little after four in the afternoon, Building 2 at 200 Gajeong-ro. Music plays in this Korean pancake place. Macaroni snacks arrive as the basic nibble, and I can fry an egg for free at the self-service corner.
#2 Assorted Korean pancakes
One platter of assorted Korean pancakes has ten kinds. Tofu, king oyster mushroom, pollock, enoki mushroom, sausage, kimchi, zucchini, and shrimp, plus skewered ingredients and beef. I can feel the care that went into gently frying them in oil over low heat. Each ingredient keeps its own flavor and aroma. The first bite is kimchi pancake.
#3 My order of favorites
①Zucchini ②King oyster mushroom ③Tofu ④Pollock ⑤Skewered ingredients. I pick a piece up from above, then take a bite facing the camera. I repeat this with each pancake.
#4 A pork wrap
Boiled pork loin cap. The loin cap is the outer loin muscle between the neck and loin. I dip it in salted shrimp, add seasoned chives, wrap it in baby napa cabbage, and finish with kimchi. A wrap of pork loin cap with refreshing kimchi is all I need.
#5 Makgeolli
A glass of Neurin Maeul makgeolli, between bites of pancakes and pork. One last glass and a thumbs-up to finish.
A word for visitors from abroad
One assorted Korean pancake platter lets you try ten kinds. Fry an egg for free at the self-service corner. Boiled pork loin cap is boiled pork from the cut between the neck and loin. Wrap it in kimchi and enjoy it with makgeolli.

No festivals or famous sights today either — for me, a meal like this is a trip in itself.
