Donnattang Review
Yeontan Bulgogi — soy-marinated pork bulgogi stir-fried over briquette coals with shredded green onion, served on a hot griddle
The place
A quiet old neighborhood restaurant in Gajwa-dong. The owner stir-fries soy-marinated pork bulgogi with shredded green onion over briquette coals and serves it on a pre-heated iron griddle. At the table you just light the burner and eat it warm.
Ganjang bulgogi
Ganjang (soy) bulgogi for two (200 g at 9,900 won × 2 = 19,800 won). The meat is thin and tender. Cooked together with the green onion, it carries the briquette aroma and the scent of the onion.
How to eat
First a piece on its own; then wrapped in lettuce and perilla leaf with meat, green onion, garlic and ssamjang. I had soju (4,000 won) with it.
Doenjang sulbap
Leave a little meat, and they pour doenjang-jjigae with rice onto the griddle you ate from and cook it there (doenjang sulbap, 4,000 won). Total 27,800 won.
A word for visitors from abroad
Ganjang bulgogi is ordered from two servings. Leave a little meat and they will cook doenjang sulbap for you. There is no station nearby, so walk from Seobu Women's Center Station.
